Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in HPC administration and systems engineering.
• Extensive experience with Linux (Red Hat/CentOS) in HPC environments.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash).
• Experience with job scheduling systems (SLURM, PBS, LSF).
• Knowledge of parallel file systems and storage tech (Ceph, GPFS, Lustre, BeeGFS).
• Familiarity with MPI/OpenMP and scientific computing frameworks.
• Experience with configuration management/automation tools (Salt, Ansible, Puppet).
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage medium-scale HPC clusters and storage systems.
• Monitor health, performance, and resource utilization for optimal operation.
• Implement security protocols and perform routine maintenance and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a multi-user research environment.
• Manage job scheduling and workload optimization (SLURM).
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for administration.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate needs into scalable solutions.
• Provide documentation and training for HPC users and staff.
