Job summary

UT-Battelle’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory seeks a Senior Research Scientist to lead systems architecture for future leadership-class HPC. You will guide a multidisciplinary team, shape strategic research with quantum-classical integrations, and influence interconnect and storage evolution for exascale systems.

You will collaborate with DOE program offices and vendors, publish breakthroughs, and pursue external funding to sustain the research portfolio.

Qualifications

• PhD plus 8+ years of research in HPC or related field.
• Demonstrated leadership of research teams and postdocs.
• Experience with strategic research agendas and funding.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary team focused on next-generation HPC systems architecture.
• Define and execute strategic research in hybrid HPC-quantum computing.
• Architect and evaluate hybrid systems and co-design frameworks.
• Advance next-generation interconnects and storage technologies for leadership workloads.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners and represent ATS in forums.
• Publish findings and secure external funding.
