Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead storage and infrastructure efforts for classified HPC environments, guiding architecture, security integration, and performance optimization. You will translate demanding mission requirements into resilient solutions and mentor engineers across projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field plus 12+ years of relevant experience; equivalent combos may be considered.
• Minimum of five years supporting Intelligence Community environments or missions.
• Ability to lead complex technical efforts and translate requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, modernization, and optimization of HPC storage across classified environments.
• Translate mission requirements into secure, scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Develop prototypes, automation scripts, and engineering solutions using Python, Bash, and configuration-management tools.
• Establish standards and best practices for HPC storage infrastructure.
