Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory seeks a Senior Engineer for Classified HPC Storage & Infrastructure to shape secure, high-performance storage capabilities behind national security missions. You’ll lead architecture, design, and modernization across classified HPC environments, translating mission requirements into resilient solutions while mentoring staff and partnering with cybersecurity teams.

Qualifications

BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or closely related field; 12+ years of systems engineering, HPC, storage infrastructure, or technical consulting experience.
Minimum 5 years supporting Intelligence Community environments or missions.
Ability to independently lead complex technical efforts and translate requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions.
Eligibility for access to Sensitive or Special Access Program information; Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture, design, modernization, and optimization of high-performance storage and supporting systems across classified HPC environments.
Translate complex mission requirements into secure, scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions.
Develop prototypes, automation, scripts, and engineering solutions using Python, Bash, and configuration-management tools.
Establish standards, best practices, performance objectives, and lifecycle strategies for HPC storage infrastructure.
