Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a mid-career Systems Engineer specializing in HPC and GPU infrastructure to design, develop, and optimize GPU clusters for Intelligence Community customers. This is a 100% on-site position at the customer site in Bethesda, Maryland.

The role requires Linux expertise, DoD certification readiness, and strong scripting and automation skills. You will install and tune HPC software, manage GPU workloads with Slurm/PBS, and document architectures and testing results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
• DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CASP+, CISSP) is required or equivalent.
• Experience with Linux-based GPU development and Linux performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain on-premises and cloud-based GPU/HPC hardware; assess performance.
• Analyze HPC/GPU cluster performance; identify bottlenecks and optimization strategies.
• Install and configure HPC and GPU job-scheduling platforms (Slurm, PBS, Apache Airflow, Kubernetes).
• Apply power-management techniques to optimize GPU power across Linux platforms.
• Design and execute Linux-based GPU performance tests, benchmarking, and debugging.
