Job summary

Base-2 Solutions, LLC is seeking a mid-career Systems Engineer to design, develop, and optimize GPU clusters for Intelligence Community customers. This 100% on-site role is based at the customer site in Bethesda, MD.

The engineer will install and optimize GPU/HPC hardware, analyze performance, and implement GPU testing and dashboards, with DoD/IC compliance and strong Linux expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience per equivalency rules.
• Experience with Linux-based GPU/HPC hardware and software integration.
• DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II/III certs or equivalent certification.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain on-premises and cloud-based GPU and HPC hardware.
• Analyze HPC and GPU cluster performance; identify bottlenecks and optimize.
• Configure Slurm, PBS, Airflow, and Kubernetes job scheduling and workloads.
• Apply power-management to optimize GPU consumption across Linux platforms.
• Design and execute Linux GPU performance tests and maintain test suites.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and best practices.
• Monitor GPU industry trends and propose Linux-based optimization approaches.
• Share regular technical updates with the team.
