Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer (Mid-Career) to design and optimize HPC/GPU infrastructure for IC customers. The role is 100% on-site at Bethesda, MD, with focus on Linux, GPUs, and orchestration tools.

You will install and tune GPU/HPC hardware both on-prem and in cloud environments, leveraging Slurm, PBS, and Kubernetes. Strong security credentials and DoD experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; additional years may waive degree.
• 4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
• DoD 8570.11-IAT Level II certification minimum (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP); Level III acceptable.

Responsibilities

• HPC and GPU environment engineering: install/maintain GPU/HPC hardware on-prem and in cloud; optimize hardware interaction with software.
• Performance optimization: analyze HPC/GPU cluster performance; identify bottlenecks; improve performance across Linux applications.
• HPC/GPU tooling: install/configure job scheduling/workload management platforms (Slurm, PBS, Apache Airflow, Kubernetes).
• Power efficiency: optimize GPU power consumption; improve efficiency on Linux platforms.
• Testing and validation: design/execute tests for GPU performance; stress tests and benchmarks; maintain testing suites.
• Documentation: maintain architectural specs and Linux GPU development docs; ensure up-to-date docs.
• Industry insight: track GPU industry trends; propose Linux-specific optimization approaches.
