Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for HPC & GPU infrastructure to design, deploy, and optimize GPU clusters for Intelligence Community customers. The role is 100% on-site in Bethesda, MD, with Linux-centric hardware and software integration.

You will install HPC/GPU hardware, develop scheduling with Slurm/PBS and Kubernetes, and apply power-management techniques to optimize efficiency. Strong Linux experience and DoD certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of relevant systems engineering experience or equivalent.
• Active DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II certification (Level III acceptable) and US citizenship required.
• Expertise in Linux system integration and hardware architectures for HPC/GPU environments.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain GPU and HPC hardware on-premises and in the cloud.
• Analyze HPC and GPU cluster performance; identify bottlenecks and optimize across Linux workloads.
• Install and configure Slurm, PBS, Apache Airflow, and Kubernetes for workload management.
• Apply power-management techniques to reduce GPU energy use on Linux platforms.
• Design and execute Linux-based tests for GPU performance, including stress and benchmarking.
• Maintain architectural and code documentation; follow Linux best practices for GPU development.
• Monitor trends in GPUs and research Linux-based optimization approaches.
