Job summary

Supermicro, a leader in server technologies, seeks a Senior System Engineer to design, deploy, test and optimize rack solutions for data centers and enterprise customers. You will drive PoC work, lead cluster and cloud infrastructure support, and author detailed procedures while developing automation tools.

Required: BS/MS in EE/CE, 8+ years in hardware/test, 8+ years in DevOps with Docker/Kubernetes, and Python/shell scripting.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field (MS preferred).
• 8+ years in server/network/storage hardware configuration, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• 8+ years in DevOps or cloud environments, including Docker/Containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow AI/ML frameworks.
• Familiar with TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4-IPv6, DNS, DHCP and application protocols.
• Familiar with HPC/AI or cloud benchmark tests and networking architecture.
• Excellent Python and shell scripting skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork; good team player.
• Experience with MLPerf benchmarks, LLM, HPL-AI or RCCL/NCCL is a plus.
• CCNA/OpenStack/OpenShift/AWS/Azure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deploy Rack/Cluster infrastructure and perform comprehensive system-level testing across GPUs, CPUs, networks and storage.
• Lead proof-of-concept design and testing; optimize HPC/AI benchmarks and system settings.
• Oversee day-to-day operational support for Cluster, Storage, HPC and Cloud infra.
• Write test procedures, reports and troubleshooting documentation for servers/networks/clusters.
• Deliver on-site deployment services to ensure customer acceptance.
• Develop automation tools for cluster deployment and testing environments.
