Job summary

Supermicro in San Jose, CA seeks a Network Engineer to roll out and maintain business-critical applications and services. You will resolve escalated issues, drive technical development, and communicate effectively with teams.

You will perform system-level tests on GPUs and CPUs, optimize HPC/AI benchmarks, and contribute to deployment services and documentation. Strong Linux, DevOps, and scripting skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of work-related experience in Deep Learning and Machine Learning.
• 5+ years of Linux/networking debugging/testing or relevant experience.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, etc.
• Experience with DevOps or in cloud environments, including but not limited to Docker/Containers and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with workload/scheduler Managers (Slurm) for rack/cluster.
• Familiar with MLPerf Training/Inference benchmark, LLM, HPL-AI or RCCL/NCCL.
• Programming experience with windows and Linux shell scripting.
• Strong sense of teamwork and good team player, strong communication skills.
• Familiar with Intel/AMD/NVIDIA development tool kits such as CUDA, oneAPI, ROCm is a plus.
• Experience with server/network hardware debugging and troubleshooting is a plus.
• CCNA, OpenStack, OpenShift, Azure or AWS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive system-level rack tests on GPUs, ARM-based, Intel Xeon, and AMD EPYC processors, using in-house tools.
• Deliver training sessions on HPC/AI applications and address complex customer issues.
• Provide optimized benchmarks for HPC/AI applications and fine-tune BIOS/OS/network settings.
• Deliver on-site deployment services and post-level 1–2 support; create technical docs.
• Document hardware/software quality issues and relay feedback to Product Management.
• Contribute to HPC roadmap development and plan software/hardware upgrades.
• Develop test plans, reports, logs, and automation scripts to streamline testing.
