Job summary

Regent Santa Monica Beach seeks an Engineer III to ensure safe, efficient operation of hotel facilities and equipment. You will perform advanced maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems while guiding junior engineers and upholding luxury standards.

You’ll respond to requests, manage work orders, and monitor safety compliance, while supporting room and public-area maintenance and emergency procedures. Weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with facilities management focus.
• Minimum three years hands-on maintenance experience in luxury settings.
• Fluent English, strong guest-service orientation.
• Knowledge of building systems and preventative maintenance best practices.
• Experience using HotSOS/Espresso/Opera or similar software preferred.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and guest concerns while upholding luxury service standards.
• Review logs and work orders; document status in systems like HotSOS or Espresso.
• Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
• Monitor operation of equipment for safety, efficiency, and cost control.
• Assist with inspections, regulatory compliance, and preventive programs.
• Complete documentation and report significant concerns to leadership.
• Support emergency procedures and sustainability initiatives.
• Maintain organized tool areas, inventories, and workspace readiness.
