Job summary

The Sundry by Hilton Hotel is seeking a skilled Chief Engineer to lead a small facilities team while performing hands-on maintenance to keep hotel operations and equipment running smoothly. You will troubleshoot, repair and monitor electrical and mechanical systems, plan preventive maintenance, manage budgets, coordinate with inspectors, and mentor staff.

A valid driver's license and at least three years in maintenance with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years in a maintenance role involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to lead and mentor facilities staff.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical/mechanical systems and equipment.
• Review maintenance problems and prioritize work orders.
• Monitor and inspect assigned work.
• Inspect property to identify needs.
• Plan and execute maintenance programs.
• Service hotel pool and manage chemicals and filters.
• Estimate expenditures for budget purposes and assist capital budgeting.
• Solicit bids from contractors and ensure work meets specs.
• Recruit, mentor, and support facilities staff.
• Coordinate with health, safety, fire and building inspectors to ensure compliance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on schedule.
• Maintain building exterior when not contracted out.
• Listen and respond to guests’ requests or complaints.
