Job summary

SMI Hotel Group operates upscale, full-service hotels and is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer for the Delta by Marriott Richmond Downtown. This on-site role leads a comprehensive maintenance program and oversees energy efficiency, safety and vendor management.

The ideal candidate has five years in hotel maintenance/engineering with at least two years in a supervisory role, holds HVAC and related certifications, and demonstrates strong planning, problem solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Five years in hotel maintenance/engineering with at least two years in a leadership role.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventative maintenance program and cost controls.
• Supervise engineering staff and training.
• Manage outside contractors and vendors for maintenance tasks.
• Inspect and repair pumps, boilers, chillers, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ensure safety and SOP compliance.
