Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst. The role reports to the Chief Engineer and leads on-site maintenance, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring brand-standard preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical coursework preferred.
• At least 3 years in hotel or commercial building maintenance; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver preventative maintenance per brand standards across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and more.
• Serve as senior on-site engineering presence in the Chief Engineer's absence.
• Perform hands-on repairs and supervise daily work priorities.
• Manage work order system and track deficiencies to completion.
• Coach and support maintenance staff; coordinate capital projects.
• Ensure safety, life-safety, and adherence to policies.
