Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst. This hands-on leadership role works with the Chief Engineer to maintain the property and lead the maintenance team.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in hotel or commercial maintenance, strong HVAC knowledge, and a CPO certification is preferred or willingness to obtain. The position is full-time and on-site in Amherst, NY.

Qualifications

Minimum of high school education; post-high school, college, or trade school coursework in mechanical, electrical, or technical disciplines preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years in hotel or commercial building maintenance, with some lead or supervisory experience preferred.
In-depth working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

Partners with the Chief Engineer to deliver the property's preventative maintenance program to brand standards.
Serves as the senior engineering presence on property in the Chief Engineer's absence, directing daily work and setting priorities.
Completes hands-on repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building systems.
Manages the work order system: prioritizes, completes, and tracks orders in a timely manner.
