Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst is seeking a hands-on Assistant Chief Engineer to join our team. You will work directly with the Chief Engineer to keep the property running at its best and serve as the senior engineering presence when the Chief is unavailable.

Qualifications

• High school education required; college or trade school coursework preferred.
• At least 3 years in hotel or commercial building maintenance with some lead/supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Engineer with preventative maintenance per brand standards.
• Direct daily work in Chief Engineer's absence and set priorities.
• Perform hands-on repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Manage work order system and monitor deficiencies to resolution.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies; coordinate capital projects.
