Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to work alongside the Chief Engineer, leading on-site engineering efforts with hands-on leadership. This role focuses on maintaining brand standards and ensuring guest operations run smoothly.

The position requires HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry know-how, plus supervisory experience and strong troubleshooting. Compensation is hourly, with overtime per NY state law.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of high school education; post-high school or trade school coursework preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years in hotel or commercial building maintenance, with some lead/supervisory experience preferred
• In-depth working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain

Aufgaben

• Partners with the Chief Engineer to deliver the property's preventative maintenance program per brand standards (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Serves as the senior engineering presence on property in the Chief Engineer's absence
• Performs hands-on repairs across multiple trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
• Manages the work order system and tracks deficiencies to resolution
• Coaches, trains, and supports maintenance staff
• Assists other departments to fulfill guest requests and resolve concerns
• Follows safe working practices and participates in regular property walk-throughs
