Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a hands-on Assistant Chief Engineer for Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst to keep the property running at its best and to serve as the senior engineering presence in the Chief Engineer's absence.

This role offers growth within the department, opportunities to lead maintenance staff, coordinate capital projects, and ensure compliance with brand standards while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school education; post-high school coursework preferred.
• Minimum of three years in hotel or commercial building maintenance with some lead experience.
• In-depth working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the property's preventative maintenance program to brand standards for HVAC, laundry, plumbing, fire safety and guest rooms.
• Serve as the senior engineering presence in the Chief Engineer's absence, directing daily work.
• Perform hands-on repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general systems.
• Manage work orders, prioritize items, and track deficiencies through resolution.
• Coach and supervise maintenance staff and assist other departments as needed.
• Coordinate and supervise contracted capital projects and ensure safety compliance.
