Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee all administrative, financial and operational aspects of the hotel’s engineering division. This role ensures safe and profitable hotel operations, with a focus on maintenance, compliance, and energy efficiency.

The position requires 5+ years in facilities management within hospitality, strong budgeting skills, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in facilities management for hotels or similar.
• Ability to manage budgets and forecasts.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operation skills.
• Strong communication and multitasking under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train all Engineering staff in Customer Service and SOPs.
• Create and post Engineering staff schedules.
• Develop and manage annual departmental budget.
• Develop financial forecasts and participate in monthly P&L reviews.
• Maintain property, equipment, and grounds in good repair.
• Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
• Implement preventative maintenance program for hotel equipment.
• Inspect and certify emergency and life-safety systems as required.
• Respond to alarms promptly and determine status.
