Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital maintenance department, reporting to the Director/Assistant Director. The role emphasizes plant operations, staff leadership, and coordination of preventative maintenance across critical systems.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Engineering with NYC licenses preferred, strong customer service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-stakes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Stationary Engineer License by NYC Buildings (preferred).
• Refrigeration Engineer License by NYC Fire Department (preferred).
• Certificate of Fitness A-35, G-71, G-79 and P-98 within 90 days if requested.
• Meet deadlines and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to multi-task, organize, and set priorities.
• Show initiative, responsibility, and flexibility.
• Hands-on, team-oriented management style.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and controls activities of plant operations to keep staff engaged in maintenance and renovations.
• Inspects equipment to determine condition and regulates gas, oil and water for boilers and related equipment.
• Performs daily inspections and determines need for adjustments and repairs.
• Tests water chemistry and adjusts chemicals for boilers; oversees boiler cleaning.
• Monitors chilled water systems, pumps and cooling towers; manages related equipment.
• Coordinates preventive maintenance and project work with vendors and contractors, and approves payments.
