Job summary

AdventHealth South Overland Park is seeking an Advanced Pharmacy Technician to perform expert-level duties across sterile and hazardous compounding, inventory, automation, and compliance. Collaborate with pharmacists to support patient-centered care and safety.

You’ll lead training, drive quality improvement, and ensure adherence to USP 795/797/800, DEA, OSHA, and accreditation standards while mentoring technicians and supporting continuous development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician training program preferred; relevant certifications valued.
• Two years in hospital pharmacy or equivalent experience recommended.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced pharmacy technician functions across centralized, decentralized, automation, and sterile workflows.
• Leads inventory management including procurement, formulary compliance, inventory accuracy, and shortage mitigation.
• Oversees controlled substance inventory and DEA compliance.
• Leads safety initiatives and staff education on medication safety.
• Precepts students and supports technician training and development.
• Collaborates with pharmacy informatics to improve workflow and technology.
