Job summary

Rockford Center is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a full-time day shift with rotating weekends and holidays at their Newark, DE hospital. The Lead Technician will perform advanced maintenance and preventive care to support safe operations of hospital facilities, systems, and equipment.

The role requires 5 years of hospital maintenance experience, HVAC/plumbing knowledge, and a valid driver's license. The team emphasizes safety, documentation via CMMS, and mentoring new staff.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of related experience, with knowledge of facility maintenance, HVAC and plumbing.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving history.
• High School Diploma/GED; industry certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced maintenance, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance on hospital facilities, building systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Inspects facilities, equipment, and life safety systems and initiates corrective actions to ensure compliance and readiness.
• Completes preventive maintenance work orders and corrective tasks per schedules and standards.
• Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS and other documentation.
• Assists with facility projects, renovations, and equipment installations as assigned.
• Acts as a technical resource, providing guidance and training to maintenance staff.
• Responds to routine, urgent, and emergency maintenance requests to minimize disruptions to patient care.
