Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
• Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
• Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues and communicate clearly.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate with nursing, administration and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Promotes DHR Health's mission, vision and values in service delivery.
• Works shifts as needed/assigned - variable.
• Performs painting, spackling, textures, and related wall/ceiling/floor repairs.
• Maintains and documents a complete record system for patient rooms and painting/repairs.
• Performs carpentry such as drywall, steel framing repairs or projects.
• Organizes and maintains spare parts and inventory of supplies.
• Makes minor repairs to equipment and fixtures and cleans equipment.
• Participates in Emergency Preparedness Plans.
• Assists in other Engineering areas as directed.
