Job summary

NIP Group is expanding its GrowPro Underwriter team to protect and grow horticultural businesses such as greenhouses, nurseries, garden centers, and indoor agriculture operations. This role blends underwriting judgment with strong organizational and broker-relations skills.

The GrowPro Underwriter will evaluate exposures, set terms and pricing, gather information, and move accounts from submission to policy issuance, all while contributing to program development and market strategy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of commercial P&C underwriting experience.
• Experience with agriculture, horticulture, or related specialty risks preferred.
• Ability to independently evaluate, price, negotiate, and manage both new and renewal business.
• Strong property underwriting capability including loss-control information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with precise underwriting questions.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a GrowPro portfolio of new and renewal accounts.
• Analyze property and casualty exposures for horticultural operations, including buildings, stock, equipment, and auto exposures.
• Review submissions for completeness and request information to reach timely underwriting decisions.
• Develop and negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, and coverage structure for new and renewal business.
• Maintain organized files and underwriting notes to support decisions and audit expectations.
• Build broker relationships and communicate underwriting requirements clearly and professionally.
