Hippo Insurance is seeking a Senior Homeowners Underwriter - Hippo Plus to manage the full underwriting lifecycle for new and renewal homeowner risks, including endorsements, reinstatements, cancellations, and non-renewals.

You will leverage inspection data, loss trends, and market intelligence to guide risk actions and collaborate with sales, claims, customer support, and product teams to close coverage gaps.

Competenze

• 4+ years of P&C Homeowners underwriting experience, with ability to interpret guidelines, policy language, inspection results, and supporting docs.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business admin, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong technical underwriting, analytical and critical thinking skills with data synthesis from multiple sources
• Curiosity about why risk outcomes occur; evidence-based guideline recommendations
• Attention to detail documenting trends, assumptions and rationale
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, experimental environment with underwriting discipline and flexibility
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Proficiency with Office tools and data analysis software (pivot tables, SQL or similar)

• Underwrite new and renewal homeowner risks; gather market intelligence and document insights for product development
• Analyze risk information and recommend inspections, loss prevention actions, and home maintenance interventions
• Evaluate endorsements, reinstatements, cancellations, and non-renewals per guidelines
• Synthesize feedback from sales, customers, claims, and inspections to identify patterns and coverage gaps
• Propose updates to underwriting guidelines and loss prevention thresholds based on data and trends
• Address queries from claims, billing, customer support, and product teams within underwriting authority
