Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Purchasing professional for the Dallas area to lead procurement for custom and production homebuilding projects. You will manage vendor relationships, document project progress, and ensure alignment of POs with budgets.

Collaboration across Growth, Construction Operations, and Finance will be key to success. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in purchasing, strong Excel/Sheets skills, and experience with PlanSwift or takeoff tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Purchasing or related roles within custom or production homebuilding.
• Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel for data entry and tracking.
• Familiarity with MEP systems and their integration into residential projects.
• Reading and interpreting architectural/construction documents.
• Ability to collaborate across Growth, Construction Operations, and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Bid new and existing home products and manage vendor relationships throughout the process.
• Drive comprehensive project documentation and facilitate cross-functional communication.
• Manage PO and VPO processes to align with project specs and budgets.
• Independently manage the budget lifecycle including approvals, adjustments, and variance analysis.
• Negotiate costs across materials and trade scopes to optimize value.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and build long-term partnerships.
• Recruit, vet, and award new subcontractors and trade partners.
