Job summary

Bluejack Builders in Texas is seeking a Purchasing/Procurement professional to manage vendor communications, process purchase orders, and coordinate with operations on budgets and change orders. The role requires BuilderTrend experience and strong knowledge of construction processes.

The position is full-time, in-office, with a typical Monday–Friday schedule and occasional weekend support. BuilderTrend training is provided and encouraged.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in new home residential construction.
• Knowledge of construction principles and processes.
• Knowledge of construction materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with homebuilding software (BuilderTrend preferred).
• Ability to read contracts, plans and specs.
• Knowledge of building codes and procedures.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for purchasing inquiries and vendor communications.
• Coordinate purchase orders for builds and resolve issues in Buildertrend.
• Negotiate with suppliers for quality products at optimal pricing.
• Facilitate vendor bidding, tracking and awards.
• Compile cost analyses for bids.
• Compile cost and takeoff data for change orders and coordinate with Operations.
• Maintain price sheets and cost catalogs in Buildertrend.
• Maintain material takeoffs and estimates on standard plans.
• Assist Director of Purchasing with budget creation for each home.
• Ensure vendors comply with contract requirements.
• Collaborate with Designer on product development.
• Send contract paperwork and signed Scope of Work to Accounting for vendor files.
• Invite new vendors to Buildertrend and address BT questions.
• Expedite deliveries as needed.
• Complete BuilderTrend Academy courses and submit certificates.
• Attend BuilderTrend webinars and schedule coaching sessions.
