Job summary

UW Health is recruiting a laboratory leader to support providers with diagnosis, treatment and management by performing a wide range of procedures essential to patient care.

You will direct laboratory staff, ensure adherence to policies, coordinate workflow for timely and accurate results, and develop training materials in a collaborative, safety‑driven environment. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
  • Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science preferred.
  • Education/training equivalent to an associate degree to include: 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily direction to laboratory staff with regard to laboratory policies and procedures and serve as the dedicated resource for procedures, equipment and education.
  • Serve as a comprehensive provider of laboratory testing, expert medical interpretation of specimens and innovation in laboratory technology
  • Develop and maintain teaching / training materials.
  • Coordinate work-flow throughout the laboratory to ensure quality results are reported in a clinically useful time frame.

Education

Work Schedule

100% FTE, day shift. Monday through Friday 7:00AM – 3:30PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay
  • This position may be eligible for a $4,000 sign-on bonus.
  • Additional components of compensation may include:
    • Evening and night shift differential
    • Weekend differential
    • On-call pay

Licenses & Certifications
  • Histotechnician / Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Preferred
