Job summary

Artheon is seeking an experienced Highway Project Manager to join our transportation engineering team in Berlin or East Brunswick, NJ. The ideal candidate will have approximately 15 or more years of experience in highway design and transportation engineering, with a strong background managing roadway and transportation projects from concept through completion.

A New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 15+ years of progressive experience in highway design and transportation engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage highway and transportation projects from planning and design through final delivery, including scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
• Provide technical oversight for highway design, alignments/profiles, road improvements, and safety enhancements per NJ standards.
• Serve as primary client contact and maintain relationships; communicate status, priorities, schedules, and budgets.
• Lead coordination with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Oversee safety improvements and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) plans and staging.
• Ensure designs meet NJTA, NJDOT, AASHTO and local standards.
• Review and oversee preparation of technical reports, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Support business development, proposals, scope development, and pursuing new opportunities.
• Mentor and direct engineers and design staff to maintain quality across deliverables.
