Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior to join our Bartlett team. The role involves operating trucks and tractors, maintaining highways and right-of-ways, and performing roadwork tasks in various weather conditions.

Qualified candidates will have a valid driver’s license; a Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days. CDL with tanker endorsement preferred.

Competenze

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license; CDL w/ air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days of employment.
• Preferred: experience in operating heavy equipment and a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Commercial pesticide license not required for this role.
• On-call availability and ability to respond within 45 minutes during non-scheduled hours, including holidays and weekends.

Mansioni

• Operate trucks and light equipment to transport crews or materials to work sites.
• Operate tractors with attachments (disc, harrows, seeders, mowers) for highway maintenance.
• Install signs, fences, and guardrails; use hand tools for patches and sealing.
• Perform winter maintenance including snow removal and traffic control; paint structures.
• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and read instructions safely.
