Job summary

Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) invites applications for a Hwy Maintenance Worker/Senior to maintain and operate highway equipment in Franklin or Alma, NE. The role supports statewide safety and infrastructure with snow removal and emergency response duties as needed.

Minimum qualifications include 18+ with a valid driver's license; CDL-A or B with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 with valid driver's license.
• CDL-A or B with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days.
• Experience operating heavy highway maintenance equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance equipment such as trucks, loaders, graders, snowplows.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair signs, patch roadways, and winter operations during emergencies.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and adverse weather as needed.
• Train coworkers in maintenance tasks and procedures.
