Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to work with the Resident Maintenance Engineer on major projects. You will plan, organize, supervise and inspect field activities while addressing complaints.

Responsibilities include monitoring equipment use, supervising foremen and crews, and coordinating with local officials and the public. A valid operator's license is required; Class A CDL must be obtained within six months. On-call after hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Five years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license; Class A CDL within six months of placement.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, supervising and inspecting major projects.
• Investigate complaints and recommend corrective actions related to property damage.
• Supervise foremen and crews in maintenance activities.
• Monitor equipment utilization and redistribute equipment to maximize efficiency.
• Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports, time sheets and cost records.
• On-call for after-hours emergencies as directed.
