Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to work with the Resident Maintenance Engineer on major Greenville projects. You will assist with planning, organizing, supervising and inspecting field work, investigate complaints, and help implement the county's emergency plan for hazardous weather and other emergencies.

This role requires at least five years of related experience, or an approved equivalence.

Qualifications

• Five years of related work experience or an approved equivalence.
• Requires a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
• CDL Class A must be obtained within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, supervising and inspecting major projects.
• Investigate complaints and assist with implementing emergency plans for hazardous weather and other emergencies.
• Supervise foremen and crews in maintenance activities and address environmental deficiencies.
• Communicate with local officials, administrators and the public on field complaints.
• Maintain reports, time sheets and cost records; monitor equipment utilization and personnel actions.
• Be on call for after-hours emergencies.
