Job summary

State of South Carolina, Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Maintenance Supervisor to plan, direct and manage crews of skilled and semi-skilled workers. The role oversees mechanical resources, safety, documentation, and compliance with state standards in maintenance operations.

Responsibilities include coaching, training, performance planning, and ensuring timely assessments and plans for work requests within HMMS. CDL compliance and fleet maintenance are integral parts of the position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.5 years of related work experience.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required; Class A CDL within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, direct, evaluate and manage activities of Highway Maintenance Workers.
• Coach, counsel and train staff; prepare performance planning and evaluation documents.
• Ensure safety, proper documentation, and compliance with State Standards, Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain CDL compliance, fleet safety, PM programs, and vehicle/equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate with supervisors and teams, handle emergency or special tasks as assigned.
