Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join the Highway & Rail Team in Burlington, MA, Norwell, MA, Boston, MA, or Providence, RI.

You will provide technical leadership on transportation projects, mentor developing engineers, and deliver high-quality solutions that improve safety and longevity of transportation infrastructure. You will lead designs, guide complex issues, and collaborate across disciplines while developing proposals and client-facing materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required.
• Highway/roadway design experience required; hydraulic design experience preferred.
• MassDOT design experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices.
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of complex highway and rail designs, reports, and specifications.
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across multidiscipline projects.
• Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other departments and management to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with milestones, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
• Mentor junior engineering staff with technical reviews and support.
• Prepare proposals and deliver external presentations to clients and regulators.
