Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Highway & Rail Team across Burlington, MA; Norwell, MA; Boston, MA; or Providence, RI.

You will provide technical leadership on major transportation projects, mentor engineers, and deliver high-quality solutions that improve safety and performance of roadways and rail systems. You will lead highway design, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and develop proposals and client communications, drawing on a PE license and 10+

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required.
• Highway/roadway design experience required; hydraulic design experience preferred.
• MassDOT design experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices.
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.).
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for highway and rail projects.
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across multidiscipline transportation projects.
• Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints.
• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support.
• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies.

Salary Range:

$115,000 - $140,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
