Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Division in Cleveland or Columbus, OH. The role blends hands-on design leadership with project strategy and client interaction to deliver high-visibility transportation projects.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering, 8+ years of roadway design experience, and a PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months. Hybrid/remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of design engineering experience on roadway transportation projects.
• Ohio PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency with MicroStation Open Roads Design and AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Ability to work cross-functionally on large, multidiscipline projects.
• Proficiency in standard engineering procedures and project management methodologies.
• Working knowledge of CAD software and PC office packages.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid/remote location.

Responsibilities

• Designs, CAD drawings, and specifications on assigned projects under PM guidance.
• Collaborate with project team and communicate with team members, other departments, suppliers, and clients.
• Coordinate with drafters, designers, and staff engineers within the project team.
• Complete drawings and project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and constructability.
• Develop conceptual and basic engineering documents and design criteria.
• Utilize CAD/CAE software to perform engineering tasks.
• Observe safety and security procedures.
