Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer for its Cleveland or Columbus, OH office with hybrid/remote work options. The role leads technical design from concept to delivery, mentors engineers, and engages with clients on high‑visibility transportation projects.

The position emphasizes collaboration, proposal involvement, and growing the regional footprint while balancing hands‑on engineering with leadership influence.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 8+ years in design engineering, preferably roadway projects.
• Ohio PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency in MicroStation OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage projects.
• Proficiency with standard engineering software and MS Office.
• Hybrid/remote work capability and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Designs, CAD drawings, and specifications under PM guidance.
• Collaborate with project team and communicate with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with drafters, designers, and staff engineers.
• Deliver drawings within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and constructability.
• Develop conceptual and basic engineering documents and criteria.
• Utilize CAE software and observe safety procedures.
