Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead major highway projects across Pennsylvania. You will develop project scope and fee estimates, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and drive delivery using HNTB's SDA approach.

The role emphasizes schedule-driven submittals, change-order management, and client relationship building. The ideal candidate has extensive highway construction experience, PE/CCM credentials, and familiarity with PennDOT/PA Turnpike.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years relevant experience in heavy highway construction.
• In lieu of education, 20 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred.
• Experience working with PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike (PTC).

Responsibilities

• Develop project scope and fee quotation; assist in technical proposals and contracts per SDA.
• Coordinate project activities; establish priorities; prepare daily activity reports; monitor progress.
• Oversee project controls; review contractor schedule; coordinate with architects and engineers.
• Review submittals for conformance; develop strategies with contractor for schedule-aligned submittals.
• Lead development and execution of project management plan; mentor team; resolve non-compliant work.
• Provide interpretation of contract plans and specs; develop strategies for submittals.
• Confirm change orders; develop estimates; negotiate costs; write change orders.
• Provide cost and quality control within discipline; support business development and client relationships.
