Job summary

Wyoming Department of Transportation is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead our Construction Program in Evanston, Wyoming. The role oversees highway construction and contract administration from design through completion, with accountability for safety, schedule, and budget.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with federal, state, and local partners, and manage complex projects end-to-end. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Engineering, 2–4 years as a Project Engineer, and a PE license

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 2–4 years of progressive work experience at the Project Engineer level.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Construction Program in Evanston, overseeing highway construction and contract administration from design through completion.
  • Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians involved in project design and contract oversight.
  • Coordinate with Federal, State, County, and City officials, utility companies, landowners, and the public throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project delivery.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
