Job summary

Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) in Cheyenne seeks a full-time Engineer I to develop, refine, and review highway construction plans for contract bidding with minimal oversight. A Bachelor's degree in engineering and 0–3 years of progressive experience are required; EIT/FE credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 0–3 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and checks contract plans and documents.
• Establishes roadway geometry and cross-sections for various roadways.
• Calculates and refines excavation, embankment, and haul quantities.
• Designs guardrails, culverts, drainage, storm sewers, and pedestrian facilities.
• Ensures plans meet technical, policy, and regulatory requirements; suggests modifications.
