Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) seeks a full-time Engineer II in Buffalo, WY to support highway projects from planning through design and construction under the Resident Engineer. The role combines field and office engineering, plan reviews, cost estimates, and coordination with contractors and state and federal agencies.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in Engineering and 0–3 years of experience, plus an EIT/FE certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• EIT/FE certification required or in progress for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, scope, and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with contractors, residents, and agencies to ensure project progress and compliance.
• Perform field inspections, reviews for QA/QC, and prepare engineering calculations and reports.
