Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a High Voltage Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform routine and non-routine operations, maintenance, and repairs on high and medium voltage electrical systems in a large commercial complex.

You will report to the Service Manager or Lead, with possibilities of back shift rotation and on-call status. The role requires 8+ years in the trade, 13.8 kV/480 V switchgear experience, and HV/cable splicing certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with minimum 8+ years of experience in the trade.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience with 13.8 KV, 480V switchgear, and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) system.
• High Voltage Certification and Cable Splicing Certification (5KV - 35 KV electrical system).
• Clearance requirement: U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for access to classified information; ability to obtain & maintain an HSPD-12 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, conduit, cable, equipment, and devices per blueprints and building plans.
• Installing and mounting electronic controls, devices, panels, sensors, and components.
• Performing interlock wiring as required.
• Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits with testing devices.
• Reading contract drawings and diagnosing malfunctioning systems to locate and correct issues.
• Troubleshooting EMS systems, smart breakers, and relays; routine maintenance of switchboards, transformers, and related components.
