Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior PCB Layout Engineer to own high-speed PCB layout for Intel-based compute platforms using Cadence Allegro. You will work with hardware, SI/PI, and manufacturing teams to deliver manufacturable, high-density boards.

The role requires 8+ years of PCB layout, experience with BGA and multi‑gigabit interfaces, and strong knowledge of impedance control and signal integrity. On-site in Wisconsin with contract-to-hire potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/electronics engineering technology or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive PCB layout experience for high-density boards with BGA packages.
• Experience with high-speed design principles, impedance control, length/ skew matching.

Responsibilities

• Lead placement, stackup definition, routing and release of high-density PCBs using Cadence Allegro.
• Implement and verify high-speed interfaces (DDR5/LPDDR5, PCIe Gen4/Gen5) per design rules.
• Collaborate with hardware and SI/PI engineers for constraints and simulations.
• Define stackups and material selections with fabrication vendors.
• Manage BGA fanout strategies including via-in-pad, HDI techniques.
• Create and maintain footprints and padstacks per IPC-7351.
• Produce manufacturing docs (Gerber/ODB++, drill files, drawings) and support DFM/DFT reviews.
• Support board bring-up, debug and re-spin with revision control.
• Maintain design archives aligned with ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Contribute to layout standards and best practices.
