Job summary

Penguin Solutions is seeking a Senior PCB Design Layout Engineer to support the development of high-performance memory and advanced hardware products. This role focuses on complex PCB layout and design execution for high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power applications, including memory modules and advanced system-level designs.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro and OrCAD Capture, high-speed routing, controlled impedance design, SI/PI, HDI

Qualifications

• 8+ years of PCB design/layout for high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power designs.
• 5+ years with Cadence Allegro and OrCAD Capture.
• Multilayer PCBs (12–24+ layers), HDI, via-in-pod/buried vias, fine-pitch BGAs.
• Power delivery and analog/mixed-signal layout expertise.
• Ability to read datasheets and apply fabrication requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead PCB layout from floor planning through fabrication release.
• Collaborate with hardware, SI/PI, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
• Create footprints per IPC standards and datasheets.
• Develop stack-ups with impedance-controlled, high-speed designs.
• Define outlines, keepouts, and physical design constraints.
• Implement high-speed constraints for DDR/PCIe/CXL and others.
• Support SI/PI, impedance control, routing strategies, and return paths.
• DFM reviews, assembly drawings, and release packages.
• Mentor junior designers and improve design standards.
