Job summary

Withum's Tax Services Group seeks a High Net Worth Tax Supervisor to lead complex tax engagements, mentor staff, and manage client relationships from our LA/NY/CA/NJ offices. The role guides planning to completion, ensuring compliance and strategic tax planning for founders and tech executives.

Candidates should have 4+ years of public accounting experience, CPA progression or CPA, and strong communication and leadership skills to drive client service excellence and firm initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passed.
• MS in Taxation preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of topics affecting founders and tech executives such as QSB stock, equity compensation, pass-through entities, international tax or related matters is preferred but not required.
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience.
• Exceptional client service and communications skills with ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and training skills with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of complex high‑net‑worth individual, fiduciary, gift and estate tax returns.
• Conduct advanced tax research and draft technical memoranda on complex issues.
• Design and implement tax planning strategies for wealth preservation and succession planning for founders and tech executives.
• Manage client relationships through proactive communication and strategic consultations.
• Mentor and supervise staff, fostering technical development and collaboration.
• Collaborate with partners on client engagements, thought leadership and business development.
