Placements24 seeks an experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle driver for long-haul operations based in Upington. You will operate large trucks across national routes, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to safety standards.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ long-haul experience, a valid Code 14 license, PrDP, and a solid knowledge of road regulations. Expect professional company support, ongoing training, and a stable long‑term position.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience driving heavy goods vehicles on long-haul routes.
• Valid professional driver's license (Code 14) with excellent driving record.
• Experience operating articulated trucks or similar large commercial vehicles.
• Thorough knowledge of road networks and traffic regulations.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently for extended periods.
• Possession of a valid PrDP (Professional Driver's Permit).

Responsabilidades

• Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently on long-haul routes.
• Transport goods to designated destinations within specified timeframes.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and cargo.
• Maintain accurate trip logs and fuel consumption records.
• Ensure cargo is loaded, secured, and unloaded properly.
• Manage delivery documentation and sign-offs.
• Communicate with dispatch about location and delays.
• Perform basic maintenance and report mechanical issues.
• Adhere to driver hours and rest period regulations.
• Represent the company professionally during transit and at delivery points.
