Placements24 is seeking an experienced Long-Haul Mining & Industrial Goods Transporter to operate from Upington, Northern Cape. You will manage heavy-duty trucks, plan long-distance routes, and ensure secure loading and unloading of mining equipment and industrial goods while meeting strict safety regulations.

The role requires 7+ years of long-haul trucking experience, knowledge of load securing, and the ability to work independently in remote locations.

Qualifications

• Valid South African driver’s license with PDP and Code 14 endorsement.
• Minimum 7 years of proven long-haul trucking experience, mining/industrial transport preferred.
• Experience operating heavy-duty trucks (superlinks, flatbeds, specialized rigs) over long distances.
• Strong knowledge of load securing, weight distribution, and oversized/heavy loads regulations.
• Excellent safety-consciousness and ability to follow strict protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty trucks and trailers for long-haul transport of mining equipment and bulk materials.
• Ensure safe loading, securing, and unloading following weight/dimension regulations.
• Plan efficient routes considering road conditions, weather, and site access requirements.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; ensure safety systems are functional.
• Maintain accurate journey logs including mileage, fuel, delivery times, and incidents.
• Communicate with dispatch, clients, and site personnel regarding arrival times and delays.
• Manage driving hours and rest periods in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure vehicle and equipment are clean and operational at all times.
