Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic 2 / Quality Control Inspector (UH-60) in Barstow, CA. The role involves supervising maintenance on helicopters, inspecting structures, engines, and subsystems, and ensuring compliance with manuals and safety standards.

Qualified candidates bring extensive aviation maintenance experience, strong leadership, and the ability to document and inspect work. OCONUS travel and varied shifts may be required; a valid A&P license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• FAA A&P license preferred; military training acceptable.
• Minimum aviation maintenance experience as listed.
• Experience inspecting MDS aircraft within last 10 years.
• Ability to lead teams on complex tasks and document records.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and performs maintenance on helicopters per manuals and safety protocols.
• Oversees removal/installation of engines, rotors, gearboxes, and subsystems.
• Oversees and services aircraft and subsystems; prepares aircraft for inspections.
• Plans and supervises inspections, repairs, and modifications.
• Maintains records and compliance with configuration control and calibrations.
• Leads teams; provides guidance and entry in aircraft logs when required.
• Adheres to safety programs and quality control standards.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

FAA A&P License (preferred)

Military technical school / specialized training

Three years aviation maintenance experience

Five years applicable aircraft maintenance experience

Experience inspecting MDS aircraft

Leadership / team guidance

Strong communication

Problem solving / troubleshooting
