Job summary

Waukesha Pearce Industries, LLC is seeking an experienced heavy equipment mechanic to diagnose, service, repair, and overhaul machinery used in construction and mining. The role involves working with mechanical and computer-controlled systems, hydraulics, and diesel engines, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience, be able to read manuals and schematics, and be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent; accredited trade school graduate preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction and mining machinery.
• Knowledge of safety issues in repair of equipment.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics; rebuild engines and driveline components.
• Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing per company policy.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform bending/twisting daily.
• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, services and repairs systems on heavy equipment including mechanical and electronic controls, transmissions and pneumatic systems.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions and repairs track drive components, hydraulics, brakes, steering and hydrostatic transmissions.
• Overhauls engines and drivetrain components; replaces engines when needed.
• Tunes diesel engines and services fuel systems; checks fuel injectors and governors.
• Uses test equipment and gas/electric welding; maintains clean and safe work area.
• May assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques.
